After a very hearty breakfast, you will be picked up with valet service in our comfortable car to begin a full day game drive through Akagera National Park. On route to and within the park you will pass through Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and local communities. Your morning game drive will take you through the vistas of the peaks of the rolling hills surrounded by beautiful lakes from the south up to the north, enjoy the famous and serene scenic hilly landscape unique to Rwanda comprised of a blend of wetlands, savannah, and woodland, the natural secluded forests providing peace and tranquility. The location of the park lies at a lower altitude compared to the rest of the country, it is not only warmer but also drier in the dry season. Here you will meet the big five safari game animals: elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos who call Akagera game park their home. You will encounter impalas, zebras, bush bucks, water bucks, orbis, baboons, giraffes, cape elands and many others. Our guides will lead you toward beautiful bushy rolling hills up to the north exit of the park. From here you will travel  back to your hotel in kigali.

We head to the Headquarters of Kinigi with a packed lunch, snacks, water plus a light rain jacket for a briefing about the gorilla trekking escapade. Along with your trekking gear and drinking water, the driver will drop you off at the starting point to begin your trek to meet the gorilla families together with your ranger guides. This activity will take between 2-7 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement. Once we discover our family you will spend a maximum of 1 hour as you take time studying them in their natural habitat and taking pictures and videos. After spending your time with the fascinating mountain gorillas, return to the base and meet your driver and a transfer for lunch. After lunch you will go to the Ibyiwacu cultural village (Optional extra activity upon availability) to learn about the Rwandan culture and traditions, and the opportunity to purchase local crafts.
