What you'll do

Arrival into Uganda and pick up from the Entebbe international airport by our company representative for the trip and later transferred to Kampala for an overnight.

 Clients may also opt for a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria the largest lake in Africa and the second largest fresh water lake in the world. Clients will have some snacks and beer during the cruise which can be planned at a cost.  Its roughly 1 hour from the hotel based on traffic

At night we shall have a group dinner with the tour guides for a briefing about the trip

After breakfast, set off to Kibaale National Park through Fort Portal. The drive combines both dusty and tarmacked roads. Clients will have a lunch break in Hoima before proceeding to Kibale via Fort Portal which is commonly known as the tourism city of Uganda. The drive through Fort Portal takes you through scenic views from the tea plantations.

Clients will have their early morning breakfast before setting off at 7:00am to the park offices for briefing in preparation for Chimpanzee tracking which takes roughly 45 minutes. The Chimpanzee tracking takes roughly 1 – 2 hours or less depending on the location of the Chimps. The walk in the Kibale Forest at times takes the slippery paths and some bit of climbing and therefore clients should have good hiking shoes, enough drinking water, rain jacket, long pants and long sleeved shirts. Clients will spend 1 hour observing and taking pictures of the Chimps in the forest a moment which is worth- while.

In the afternoon, we shall head out for a community experience to see how locals in the area live their life and this will involve a run through how local beer is made, local coffee processing at home, visit to the local medicine man and local cow milking methods. Dinner will be at the lodge again.  

Note: Chimpanzee trekking is allowed for children above 15 years only. This is to prevent any unwanted occurrences in the forest as a result of excitement by children or fear that may cause the Chimpanzees to react aggressively.

After breakfast, we shall start off our journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.  One of the common features we shall be able to see during the drive is the famous ranges of Mountain Rwenzori with the highest peak Magherita Standing at 5109M. The drive takes us through community markets ad if clients wish, a stop will always be made for them to take some pictures. 

 

Later in the afternoon head out for an optional crater drive tour in the park

In the morning at 6:30am, start off your game drive in the park. Queen Elizabeth boasts of one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world. Located on the floor of the Albertine Rift Valley south west of Kasese, its vegetation comprises of savannah, acacia, euphorbia trees and large papyrus swamps. A number of over 90 mammal species and 600 bird species make this territory and great tourist destination. The maramagambo forest houses a large selection of monkeys and birds with flamingos on the crater lakes. The morning Game drive provide excellent opportunity to see lions, elephants, Leopards, Topi andmany other animals, however the fact that nature cannot be tamed, we can’t promise 100% that you will see all the animals.. After drive back to the lodge for lunch at around 12:30 pm before transfer for the boat cruise at 1:30pm 

In the afternoon, take part in the boat trip on the Mweya Peninsula along the Kazinga channel where you will see crocodiles, hippos and birds that inhabit the Shoeline. The boat cruise takes roughly 2 hours.

Clients will have a morning to a bush breakfast in the wilderness to take in their final breath of the wilderness air. After breakfast clients will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable in Buhoma where they will check into the lodge and later have lunch. 

Clients can decide to do a community tour or Batwa cultural experience in the afternoon or rest at the lodge. The activity can be organized at a cost.

After an early breakfast, at 7:20am drive to the information center 10 minutes from the lodge with packed lunch boxes to prepare for the Gorilla tracking. After briefing from the Ranger guide, traverse to the Gorilla sanctuary to start tracking these lovely creatures. It takes approximately 1-2 hours s or less to find the gorillas based on where they are located and after you spend 1 hour observing and taking pictures. The time you spend observing these endangered species is worth a trip to any part of the world and can never be forgotten.  Clients are expected to have enough drinking water, good hiking shoes, rain jackets in case it rains, gloves if necessary, long sleeved clothes. Time spent with these Gorillas is very priceless. 

After the tracking we will get in contact with the local community. Dance, music and a short tour through the village will follow.

After spending time in the land of the famous Gorillas and the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, start your journey at 9:00am to Entebbe with a lunch stop at Igongo cultural center. Clients will have another stop at the Uganda Equator to take pictures. We shall later proceed to Entebbe with two travel options available.

  • Carry enough drinking water because you never know the location of the Gorillas from the start of your hike. Be prepared for long walks just in case
  • Eating, drinking and smoking near the gorillas is forbidden. The ranger will always communicate when it’s appropriate for you to do so.
  • Bwindi being a tropical forest, it can rain anytime so we encourage you to carry a rain jacket.
