Day 1: Arrival

Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda. Transfer from the airport to your hotel for a welcome drink and orientation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel, no activity on this day!

Day 2: Kigali City Tour

After breakfast, we will depart your hotel on around 08am for a sightseeing city tour of Kigali, one of the cleanest Cities in east-central Africa. You will drive through the administrative, museums and economic districts of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. You will start on Visiting Kandt house museum as knowing much about Dr Richard Kandt who was seeking the source of River Nile and there we shall be learning more about the origin and Development of Kigali city, then afterwards we shall proceed on Belgian memorial which dedicated to Belgian soldiers who have been perished during early 1994 Tutsi genocide, we shall proceed on Campaign against Genocide museum the Museum depicts in details how the Campaign Against Genocide Plan was executed by RPF/A following the withdrawal of UN troops leaving the targeted Tutsi under the mercy of the Genocidaires and how only the RPF/A forces who were in the war of liberation took the unilateral decision to stop Genocide, Rescue victims of Genocide and defeat the Genocidal forces. This CAG Museum also has its outer part comprised of monuments including that of the 12.7mm Machine Gun that helped in containing the advancing genocidal forces. After Lunch we shall close our day’s tour on Gisozi genocide memorial which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of more than one million Rwandans perished in 1994 Tutsi genocide. Our tour will end at around 05pm.

Day 3: Liberation Museum Tour

We shall depart from kigali at around 09am to the Northern Province Rwanda in Gicumbi district. 80 kilometers north-east of Kigali at Mulindi w’Intwali lies the National Liberation Museum Park. This museum tells the story of the Rwandan Liberation struggle that brought an end to the Genocide against Tutsis. This struggle was initiated by the political wing known as the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), led by its military wing, Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA), from 1st October 1990 to 4th July 1994. After a tour we will take a lunch and come back to Kigali as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery/landscape of Rwanda. We shall arrive in kigali to the hotel at around 07pm.

Day 4: Transfer To Musanze District;  Visit Gorilla Guardian & Karisoke Research Center & Transfer To Rubavu District:

We shall depart from kigali at around 07am to the Northern Province of Rwanda in Musanze district for visiting Gorilla guardian Located close to Volcanoes National Park and the town of Musanze. the Gorilla guardian is an enchanting cultural experience that has come from the ashes of Rwanda’s infamous poaching culture. Comprised of locals who once made their living poaching the country’s beautiful mountain gorillas. Gorilla guardian has rehabilitated these former criminals and also provided them with a way to support their community while also introducing visitors to the unique culture of pre-colonial Rwanda. A visit to Gorilla guardian includes a variety of activities including traditional dance and music, learning about traditional medicines and foods, spending a day in the life of a Rwandan king, and a number of local activities such as village walks. We shall take a Lunch and then proceed on Karisoke research center which is currently the world’s best hope for the survival of endangered mountain gorillas and their ecologically critical habitat. Thanks to its active conservation program, the mountain gorillas of the Virunga are the only great ape species to have increased in number in recent decades. Karisoke today conducts extensive daily protection and monitoring of the mountain gorillas; numerous science and research projects; various education initiatives; and community health and development projects. Since its establishment in 1967, Karisoke has produced an unparalleled amount of information about the mountain gorillas and their habitat and attracts scientists and science students from around the world. We shall eventually move and reach to Rubavu district at around 06pm for check in a hotel and overnight there.

Day 5: Rubavu City Tour, Hot Water Spring, Boat Riding & Relaxation On Kivu Lake

We will start our tour at around 08 after taking a breakfast and Town which is located in Rubavu district in Western Province of Rwanda. Gisenyi Town is near Goma Town across the border in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, there we shall have a chance to see main borders that separates Rwanda and DR. Congo, after lunch we will after have a chance to do a boat riding in Kivu lake so as to have a good view of Kivu lake around Rubavu town and we will eventually relax on kivu lake by swimming on a lake and have a look and enjoy around Kivu lake. We will end our tour around 07pm.

Day 6: Transfer from Rubavu To Karongi district & Visit Bisesero Genocide Memorial Site

This tour will begin at 06am after breakfast drive to Karongi district which is 111 km about 2hrs 23 min drive, on a way going to Karongi we will be enjoying a good scenery of country of thousand hills as we will be moving through Congo-Nile Divide Road around a Lake shore, as we reach in Karongi we will first check in a hotel, take a Lunch and afterward will be closing our tour on Bisesero Memorial site one of 6 major commemoration centers that we have in Rwanda, Bisesero Genocide memorial is a resting place of 40,000 people, unusually these people offered some defense and they appealed to French peace keeping troops for assistance. The troops had no mandate to intervene and they withdrew from the carnage. 40,000 Rwandans died around Bisesero. We will eventually end at around 07pm for Dinner and overnight there.

Day 7: Boat Trips On Different Islands In Kivu Lake At Karongi And Visit Environmental Museum.

We shall start our trip at around 08am after taking a breakfast. We start by doing a boat trips by visiting different island in Lake kivu Like Napoleon island which is a colony of more than 5000 Fruit Bats, King island, Queen island, Monkey island and Peace island even we shall have a chance to visit a place where The Germany solders left their boat during the second world war and where their factories had been located near kivu lake) and enjoying the great view of Karongi and Rutsiro mountains. After vising all the islands in Kivu lake, we shall take a lunch and in afternoon hours we will be visiting Environmental museum which is aimed to show the interdependence of mankind and Nature, focuses on their harmonious coexistence in the Stymphalian basin. Its objective is to raise the public’s ecological awareness and preserve the knowledge of the region’s traditional technology. Our tour will be closed at around 06pm and move to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8: Transfer From Karongi To Nyungwe National Park For Canopy Walk & Transfer From Nyungwe To Huye District

We travel early in the morning at around 06 after breakfast and drive to Nyungwe national park for canopy which is 96 km, about 1-hour 30min to Uwinka reception, as we will be reaching in Nyungwe we will first of all take a lunch and afternoon we will visit Canopy walkway which is the bridge adjourned between the huge trees one on the feel of the fresh air, 70m above the forest floor. Apart from the freshness in the air and the wonderful aerial view of the trees, you will also enjoy the sights of the fantastic birds that fly across as you enjoy the walk, it was opened in 2010 and it’s the only one of its kind in east Africa and the third on the African continent. This 90m long canopy walk way also gives a unique face to face meetings with the butterflies, birds and the monkeys. After visiting a canopy, we will drive to Huye district and reach there at around 07pm for check in and overnight there.

Day 9: Visit Ethnographic Museum, King’s Palace Museum & Transfer To Kigali

We will wake up early in the morning at around 06 for breakfast and checkout a hotel as we will start our trip by visiting Ethnographic museum which was built in 1987, and now houses one of Africa’s finest ethnographic collections. Its seven galleries display historical, ethnographic, artistic and archaeological artifacts accompanied by visual aids, giving visitors a rich insight into the culture of Rwandans. located in Huye, 132 km South of Kigali-Rwanda’s Capital. The Ethnographic Museum is one of the eight museums that make up the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. After this tour we will proceed our journey in Nyanza district for lunch, after taking a lunch we shall visit King’s palace museum which is residence of King Mutara III Rudahigwa and the Royal Palace that was traditionally built. This Palace offers a detailed look into Rwandan traditional seat of their monarchy, it is an impressive museum, restored to its 19th century state and made entirely with traditional materials. Recently the Long-horned Traditional cows, known in Kinyarwanda as “Inyambo” were also introduced because of the fact that cows form an integral part of Rwandan Culture. On the neighboring hill of Mwima, one can also visit the burial grounds of King Mutara III and his wife Queen Rosalie Gicanda. As we close our trip on this day we return back and reach to kigali at around 07pm for check in and dinner

Day 10: Transfer To Akagera National Park For Half Game Drive & Boat Ride

We shall wake up in early morning at 05 am heading to Akagera national park, we will use 2hrs and 30min to the park, it is a distance of 120km from Kigali. in a way to the park me may be viewing and learning different histories of Rwanda and enjoying the view of Landscape of the country after reaching the park we may go to Akagera game lodge for Breakfast & Check in Hotel and later in morning hours we shall do a The game drive here are like opening a present and each game drive holds a full new surprise as nature reveals its treasures in form of wonders that are so scenic, the wildlife like buffalos, antelopes including; the elands, topis, Maasai giraffes, monkeys, savannah birds, civets, leopards, the hyenas, as well as the serval cats. The game drives also mean that you will be accompanied by the guide who is so knowledgeable about the flora and the fauna that is found in the park. After a game drive we shall go for Lunch and in the evening hours they may do a boat ride in Ihema lake, during this amazing expedition, you will sail along the water edge which is covered with several trees, drift past numerous giant hippos and see several crocodiles some in the shallows of the water and other basking on the shore. In addition, you will see a number of water so serious birders will be able to identify a large number of birds. The tour shall end to 06pm and go in Akagera game lodge for dinner and overnight there.

Day 11: Full Game Drive In Akagera National Park

We wake up in the morning around 06am and take a breakfast in Akagera Game lodge and on this day, we do a full game drive in Akagera as we shall be driving from the south to the north of the park, as We shall spend approximately 5-7 hours in the park and return back to kigali evening at around 06Pm for check in, dinner and overnight there

Day 12: GIFT SHOP AND DEPARTURE

Waking up at around 08am then spend morning hours by visiting gift shops and depart after taking a Lunch in afternoon hours.
