This Safari can be organized throughout the year based on the travel dates of the clients. It can as well be tailored to fit the tastes and preferences of the clients.

The Safari is done in Safari cars with a pop-up roof for Game Viewing. Each client has a window seat for better travel moments.

Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls National Park & Cultural tour at Entanda

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Arrival into Uganda and pick up from the Entebbe international airport for transfer to the accommodation for an overnight in Kampala

Day 2. Kampala Capital City Tour & Dinner at Ndere troupe with cultural dances

Kampala is a busy city of approximately two million people by day and 1 million people by night. The city was originally built on seven hills just like Rome but now covers 27 hills. The hills were of historical, colonial, and religious importance.

On this Kampala city tour, you will visit some of the cultural, religious, and historical sites which include; Craft Villages, Owino Market (East Africa’s biggest flea market) Old Taxi Park where we find the organized chaos of taxis, Gadhafi National Mosque which is the biggest in East Africa and at the top of the tower you view the Seven hills that originally made up Kampala, Kabaka’s Lake (biggest man-made lake in East Africa)Baha’i Temple – only temple of Baha’i Faith in Africa.

Clients will later be transferred to the hotel for refreshment before heading out for Dinner at Ndere Troupe at 7 pm. Ndere troupe is a cultural dancing group that performs different dances from all parts of Uganda. Their shows take place on Wednesday & Friday.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up from the agreed location to start the drive to Murchison falls National Park at 9:00 am. It will take us roughly 4 hours to reach ZZiwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Trekking before proceeding to the park. ZZiwa is dedicated to protecting endangered Rhinos by giving them home just like in the wild. The Rhino tracking takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. After Rhino trekking proceeds for lunch at Kabalega Dinners before continuing with the drive to the lodge which involves some dusty areas.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise Murchison Falls National Park 

Wake up to an early morning Game drive in the park starting at 6:30 am giving you the opportunity to site Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, and many other animals are hidden away in the beauty of Nature (nature can’t be tamed, provided the day is good we shall see all the animals). At 1:40 pm proceed for a boat trip on the gorgeous Victoria Nile with an opportunity to view Hippos, Crocodiles, and a number of bird species which takes roughly 3 hours. You can’t miss taking pictures of the Murchison Falls known as the World’s most powerful waterfalls where the Nile from 50 meters squeezes through a 6-meter gorge falling 40 meters with a thunderous roar. For the safety of the clients, boats are not allowed to sail close to the falls.

Optional Activities.

  • Hike to the top of the falls. For those who love some bit of hiking, test your fitness by hiking up the falls for a better view of the famous Murchison Falls from the top where all the magic happens. The hike takes between 1 to 2 hours and costs 15 USD per person.  During the boat cruise, the clients who are to hike are left at some point to start off their hike. In the case of hiking, all the clients traveling together are supposed to hike since the driver will have to drive to the other point to pick them up.

 

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala

After spending time in the encountering the amazing wildlife in Murchison falls, start your journey at 10:00 am to Entebbe with a lunch stop at any restaurant available.  Proceed to Kampala for Overnight.

Day 6. One Day Visit to Entanda Cultural Centre in Mityana.

Entanda Cultural center is a real cultural experience and reward of taste to the true cultural practices of the Baganda the biggest tribe in Uganda. Activities such as dressing up the traditional wear (the Gomasi), preparing food and enjoying various fruits fresh fruits, play traditional musical instruments, cattle grazing, and milking, have a taste to fresh honey from beehives, games like skipping ropes, netball, board games, football bicycle riding in plantations, bark clothing making, old traditional hunting,  traditional wine processing, educational and informative talk about sex by Uncles (kojja) and aunts (senga). Time will determine if all the activities will be done.

Upon arrival, the clients will be grouped in groups of men & women.  Women will be taken by traditional old women who will guide them on how to prepare traditional meals like chicken luwombo, peeling, and cooking matooke ( banana) The men will participate in traditional hunting with sticks, spears, nets plus other traditional items for fishing and hunting, they will be escorted by guides and dogs. There will be no actual killing of animals but rather an insight into traditional hunting skills. The women will also be given a talk by aunts (senga) who will talk to them about bedroom matters and how to keep a man in the home, then participate in games like netball, rope skipping, tree swinging, etc. Men will also be led by Uncles to go discuss bedroom secrets and traditional family matters.

Once lunch prepared by the women is ready, the groups will meet up for lunch served in a traditional way. A variety of fruits will be available depending on the season and some of these include fresh fruits like mangos, sugar cane, passion fruits, watermelon, jack fruits, guavas, avocado, pawpaw, oranges, wild berries etc.

After lunch, a football tournament will be organized between the visitors and the community as a way of saying farewell.

Later in the evening transfer back to Kampala.

Day 7. Departure from Uganda

On this day, clients will be transferred to the Airport for their international flights carrying memories about Uganda. Kampala is 40 km from Entebbe International Airport and at times the traffic is a lot, clients, therefore, need to leave Kampala early enough to be able to catch their flights.

End of the tour.
